The Name Ngoro ngoro came from Maasai name which means – Gift of life. This is because most of the land was occupied by maasai people.
Ngoro ngoro conservancy is UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is located 184 from Arusha Town. The main attraction is the crater - is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. Its 23kms across, 570 meters deep and 310 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. The conservancy offers one of the richest wildlife viewing experiences on the Africa. Its is also park of Serengeti eco system the mineral-rich floor of the spectacular bowl is largely flat and covered in nutritious grasses, providing a paradise for herbivores and predators alike. The Big Five can all be found in the area, as well as an extraordinary concentration of predators.
